There’s nothing like music to relieve the soul and uplift it.

There’s nothing like music to relieve the soul and uplift it” Mickey Hart

After coming back to London we had a rather musically inclined few days. Firstly hitting up Cargo in Shoreditch on Wednesday to check out Deavious hosted by Not Another. It was good to get down there and finally see Deavious live, after seeing Deavious progress so much in the last few years and after the release of his highly anticipated album Tin Man Army (Buy here – http://deavious.bigcartel.com/product/tin-man-army) it was great to finally see him on stage and with such great presence and impeccable flow – he really had the crowd pumping and was loving being up there. Dropping some of his key tracks from his recent album, Tin Man Army accompanied with some new material he is currently working from his upcoming Yellow Bricks mix tape we are definitely looking forward to his new release and to seeing his face more in the circuit.

Thursday saw us head down to Idiosynphonic’s part two of their second birthday celebrations at Relay in London Bridge. Although I have been to Cable more times than I can count, their sister club Relay was a first for me and what a great club it is – originally the mysterious third room of Cable which I didn’t even know existed the sister club is a standalone space in its own right. Headliners of the night saw Zeds Dead (www.facebook.com/whoszed) come over from Canada playing an unmissable set for all electronic dance fans amalgamating aspects of electro house, hip hop and glitch genres into their largely dubstep platform. Following Zed’s Dead on Thursday, Koven smashed the evening with an admirable set with energetic sounds infused with grinding bass combinations which really set the club off. His set integrated some if his classic tunes like Wake You Up with some astounding new material he has been working on. You can keep up to date with any new releases of Koven’s on www.facebook.com/KOVENUK.

Not Another // Cargo

One of our favourites, Deavious, is hitting up Shoreditch next month with Not Another at Cargo! Not Another prides themselves in providing summer vibes after work featuring some of the most current, fresh and exciting talent in the UK. From dubstep to hip hop, jazz musicians, DJs and singers, I am very much looking forward to experience this hybrid of genres on stage at Cargo on the 12th of next month. With great live music, BBQ and a nice cold beer – what more do you want on a summers evening?

It all kicks off from 7pm with on the door tickets costing £7 (discounted advance tickets available)

Busy Week for Max // Koven

How Max turns this in to music I do not know.

Its been a busy one for Max this week, he has been putting the finishing touches on some new material, which are sounding really great. Expect some great bass combinations featuring vocals from the talented Kate Ashton which featured on Koven’s previous release ‘Wake You Up’. With a mixture of soothing melodic tracks and a unique take on some classic London dubstep sounds his new material will undoubtedly be a strong follow up to his recent EP.

The Hundreds // Borgore

The Hundreds is a multi faceted project that houses a clothing and accessories brand, footwear range, eyewear, an online and print magazine as well as retail stores. The Hundreds sell a lifestyle, attitude and give a personal perspective on street sub culture. Inspired by the Los Angeles lifestyle and California culture with Southern Cali’s skateboarding, surf, punk and hip hop cultures. The line is sold in limited quantities in some of the worlds most prestigious street wear and skate boutiques. The website itself is a great site, incorporating interviews and blog content from within and around the subculture. The Hundreds isn’t just a magazine or clothing company. The Hundreds is a lifestyle project that still remains the original personal and direct, and reflective of the community and culture, which is dedicated to their fan base.

One of The Hundreds most recent collaboration is with the Israeli dubstep DJ and producer Borgore, who we all now is infamous for his leopard print. These Borgore inspired Johnson Lows offer ‘ a lux take on a somewhat simple sneaker silhouette’ incorporating Borgore’s signature style.

As much as I am normally into a more of a simpler design, I am actually quite a fan of these!

Filthy Dubstep

Looks like they had a great time in Łódź at their last ever Filthy Dubstep event at Jazzga. So gutted I couldn’t make it out there this time, but it looks like they had a brilliant time!
